Breast augmentation with a lift is two separate procedures performed at the same time. This procedure typically takes place while you are under general anesthesia and takes approximately three and a half hours to complete. 

Our surgeons typically perform the breast lift portion of this procedure first. They’ll place incisions that allow them to remove and tighten excess skin. Then, they reshape and lift the underlying breast tissues and use sutures to hold them in place. Some patients may receive areola repositioning or resizing. 

Having completed the breast lift, your surgeon will place breast implants over or under the pectoral muscle, depending on your anatomy and desires. 

A breast lift can transform the breasts’ shape, creating exceptional results. Some surgeons prefer to perform the breast lift on its own, then add implants later if the patient still desires a size increase. Recovery After Breast Augmentation With Lift

Since this procedure combines two separate surgeries, the recovery timeline is a bit longer than a stand-alone lift or augmentation.

Full recovery from a breast augmentation with lift usually takes eight to 10 weeks, but patients can return to work and other activities much sooner than this timeline. After the procedure, you must limit arm and chest movement for 48 hours to allow the tissues to heal properly. 

While patients are fully recovered after eight to 10 weeks, it will likely take longer to see your results. The implants must go through a process called settling. As the skin and tissues stretch to accommodate the implants, the breast will slowly relax into a more natural-looking position. Approximately six months to a year after surgery, the implants should settle and the scarring will fade.
