14 year old Sarasota male with gynecomastia, the swelling of breast tissue in boys and men, was concerned with embarrassment caused. Patient complained of mild tenderness and sat out football season this year because of changes. Patient found it difficult to cope with appearance and was embarrassed how his chest looked with and without a shirt around friends. Came to Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center to improve problem.
Assessment of the patient reveals moderate gynecomastia on both the right and left. ASPS Grade III gynecomastia, a more severe case with excess skin resulting in breast sag.
Patient chose to undergo Gynecomastia Resection and Liposuction.
Tumescent liposuction along inframammary fold and axilla and glandular tissue excision were performed. Suction-assisted lipectomy was performed using a combination of various size liposuction cannulas until a pleasing contour was achieved, crosshatching to avoid contour deformities.
Patient healed very well and is ready for next football season!
