Administering Restylane Refyne

We hope you can make yourself comfortable in our treatment room during your 30 – 40 minute appointment for Restylane Refyne injections. Your face will be gentle cleansed before the injections begin and your face will be marked for injection precision. If you wish to have a topical numbing agent added to your treatment, request this during your consultation. We want this to be a pleasant experience. Restylane Refyne injections are quick, but may leave your skin slightly swollen. You should be able to go about your day as normal.

What to Expect

If you are having an acne breakout at the time of your scheduled treatment, you might want to reschedule. When the skin is broken out, Refyne injections may make matters worse and cause a painful reaction in your skin. We suggest that you call us before your appointment and ask whether or not it is an ideal time for the injections. Also, you will want to avoid having other skin rejuvenation treatments performed at the same time. The less inflammation you have in your face, the better results and experience you will have with Refyne injections. You can also discuss these concerns with your aesthetics team during the consultation.

Restylane Refyne FAQs

Am I Old Enough for Refyne?

If you are over the age of 21, we will be able to give you Restylane Refyne injections. Restylane Refyne has only been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patients 21-years old and up. You can discuss the age requirements with our team at your consultation.

Will I look Frozen?

Looking overdone or having a frozen, expressionless face is not the goal of Restylane Refyne injections. Our talented aesthetics staff will provide you with younger looking skin by subtly making improvements in facial lines and wrinkles. We want your appearance to be noticeably enhanced, but not harshly overdone.

Refyne is not for...?

Restylane Refyne is not for pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding. If there is a possibility you could be pregnant, you should not have Restylane Refyne injections. Also, we will discuss your medical history during your consultation to make sure you do not have severe allergies, a bleeding disorder, an allergy to lidocaine, a history of abnormal scarring, or if you are using medication to support your immune system. These issues would disqualify you from treatment.

What are the side effects?

Some patients experience very mild side effects with Restylane Refyne. We have seen some patients develop an infection in the treatment area with or without fever, swelling, redness, the development of a bump under the skin, itchiness, bruising, painful headaches, and sensitivity to the treatment area. We want you to call our office for assistance if you experience side effects, especially if they will not subside.
