Restylane® Defyne Reviews
"awesome I love this place!"- L.A. / ZocDoc / Jun 18, 2015
"I can't say enough good things about Dr. Derby. His attention to detail, precision, and friendliness are just awesome. He is pleasant, polite, and genuine. I have been a patient of the practice for 12 years and am just delighted to be under Dr. Derby's care. I have referred many friends to him because I think he is wonderful. I especially appreciate that I don't feel rushed through appointments and that he asks my opinion; he truly cares about his patients and wants to give them their best result. He is a special person and I couldn't be more pleased."- MC / Office Visit / Aug 18, 2017
Administering Restylane Defyne
During your Restylane Defyne appointment, we will help you reshape and gain fullness in the lines and folds around your mouth. First, you face will be cleansed before the injections begin. Your facial filler injector will then mark your face with ink, where the injections will be inserted. We will implement the Restylane Defyne with a fine needle. If you are worried about the pain of the injection, we can offer a topical numbing agent, but keep in mind the filler is also infused with lidocaine for pain. The number of injections and dosage will all be discussed in your planning session. Your appointment should last 30 – 40 minutes.
What to Expect
The results following a Restylane treatment are immediate. There may be swelling and redness around the treated areas, which will subside after several hours. Patients may resume work immediately but must avoid strenuous activities for about 24 hours. They are also advised not to put any pressure on the face and keep the head elevated so that the filler settles well to achieve the intended contours. Results may last up to one full year. This procedure is safe to repeat to maintain the desired results. For most patients, this is about every 6 months.

Restylane Defyne FAQs
Will this Injection Hurt?
We want to make your experience with these injections as painless as possible. Restylane Defyne is also made with lidocaine blended into the product as well. We can offer you a topical numbing agent on the skin as well as ice packs to help with the slight pain and swelling this injection induces.
Will it Just Fill In Wrinkles?
There are products within the Restylane family that are commonly used for lip augmentation. Restylane Defyne is best used to provide softer improvements within the deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines. These injections are given at mid-to-deep levels. You can consult with our team if you would like to learn more about other injectable treatments, or enhancing different areas of your face.
What about other treatments?
We do have requests from patients to combine Restylane Defyne with other treatments, such as a wrinkle relaxer like BOTOX®. This will depend on your particular case; however, many men and women do combine wrinkle relaxers and fillers for amazing results. If you would like to learn more about what cosmetic injectables or nonsurgical treatments are available at our plastic surgery office, we can answer any of your questions and make recommendations at your consultation appointment.
